Building human capital helps boost real estate sector

Phnom Penh: Within the last decade, Real Estate has become more robust in the kingdom with the influx of foreign direct investment, local and international development projects, and real estate agencies to facilitate the growth.
As one of the major players in the industry, CBRE Cambodia will reach 12 years of operations in Cambodia by the end of 2021. The company has pioneered human capital development which reflects in the variety of real estate services it offers in the country.
One of the key challenges facing the company in the past 11 years is human capital, as Cambodia is quite young, and the real estate professionals are quite limited in number and experience.
To set a new bar for the Learning and Development (L&D) in the sector and help boost human resources capabilities, CBRE Cambodia has just launched its signature program called CBRE Cambodia Academy to its internal employees.
The aim of the program is to equip the employees with certain knowledge and skills around real estate, soft-skills, and related technical skills necessary to perform the professional work.
The program falls under three pillars including general skills development, Real Estate Associate program focusing on foundation in Real Estate services, and the championship to create challenge and build confidence in future professionals.
CBRE Cambodia strongly believes that the program will emphasize not only the development of human capital but also the career path for the juniors who decide to embark on their career at CBRE Cambodia and in real estate.
It is also noted that the program will be backed by mainly CBRE Cambodia’s own professionals who have years of experience from different regions of the world where CBRE operates. Moreover, the participants of the program will be certified with exclusive recognition from CBRE Cambodia. It is not yet confirmed whether the program will be open to the public with the interest in real estate, but the strong foundation and structure are the key focus for the company at the moment.
