Phnom Penh: The Commerce Minister welcomes and supports the Shenzhen 4PX Express, a subsidiary of the Alibaba Cainiao Logistics Group, to promote cross-border e-commerce trading in Cambodia and create business opportunities for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to expand exports.
In the meeting with delegates of Shenzhen 4PX Express and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) representative in Cambodia on March 20, Pan Sorasak, Minister of Commerce, has also urged Shenzhen 4PX Express to set up its office in Cambodia to build soft infrastructure (Human Resource Training and Knowledge Transfer) to support e-commerce and digital economic development in accordance with the Rectangular Strategy Phase 4 of the Government.
The minister asked Shenzhen 4PX Express to consider partnering with SMEs in Cambodia to promote the presence of Cambodian products such as agricultural goods, sculptures, handmade souvenirs, fresh fruit and food in the online market especially Alibaba, the largest online in China and the world, with Jack Ma co-founder and CEO.
The minister also informed Shenzhen 4PX Express about the Ministry of Commerce’s efforts to promote e-commerce through the expedition of E-Commerce Law and the Strategic Framework, building a center of trade and culture in major cities of China and the update of the fourth generation of Cambodia Trade Integration Strategy (CTIS).
Mr. KEVIN Yue Li, founder of Shenzhen 4PX Express, has committed to developing e-commerce with the Ministry of Commerce and the Royal Government of Cambodia through partnership with UNDP and local companies as well as building a station that SMEs can drop its products to vendors and distributors to regional and global markets.
The Ministry of Public Works and Transport has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and a co-financing agreement with SHENZHEN 4PX EXPRESS CO., LTD on “Connecting Cambodia: Together for Digital Economy” to promote cross-border e-trading with the market based in the Kingdom of Cambodia and development capabilities of SMEs in the region to show the world its products through a global e-commerce platform of Alibaba in collaboration with 4PX Epress.
