Phnom Penh: Prime Minister Hun Sen will attend the second forum of the One Belt One Road Initiatives in late April and, during his visit, he will meet with top Chinese leaders to sign many investment projects with China.
Sok Khavan, secretary of state at the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) on March 25, 2019, led a team of the MME to attend a meeting with China’s National Development and Reform Commission, which aims to discuss cooperation on capacity building between Cambodia and China on investment plans which have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in 2015 and, in 2016, along with discussions on the draft of the investment plan to sign a new MoU it is scheduled to be signed in Beijing on the official visit of Prime Minister Hun Sen in April.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cambodia Mr. Prak Sokhon said during a meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Kong Xuanyou that, on March 21 during a visit of Prime Minister Hun Sen to attend the second forum of the One Belt One Road Initiatives at the end of April, the Chinese side will also hold a meeting with China’s top leaders and expect a number of documents will be signed, and these document both parties are working together on.
Prime Minister Hun Sen on January 20-23, 2019, visited China three days for the first time in 2019.
During the visit, there were discussions with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang to strengthen friendship and cooperation as a comprehensive strategic partner.
On that occasion, Samdech Techo had talks on strengthening the economy, trade and investment. Some memorandums and agreements were signed with Chinese counterpart.
China, friend has a good relationship as brothers and has been able to help Cambodia a lot since the time of the Grandfather King until today. Cambodia thanked the Chinese friends for the support that has made Cambodia flourish to this day.
