According to Mr. Pon Dara, the owner of the bridge and the owner of the beach resort in Koh Pen area in Koh Mit commune, Kampong Siem district, Kampong Cham province, said on November 27, 2020 that the longest bamboo bridge in Koh Pen Cambodia officially began construction on November 27, 2020.

He added that the construction of the bamboo bridge will take a month, which is likely to be completed and appear in the upcoming New Year 2021. Currently, the technical team has been busy building a bamboo bridge, clearing the entrance and parking.

The owner of the resort stated that the bamboo bridge has a total length of 800 meters and a width of 2 meters, and only pedestrians and cyclists are allowed, motorcycles and cars will not be allowed to cross. Koh Pen beach location has new additions different from last year, such as diving facilities, high standard toilets and other entertainment programs.

Koh Pen Bamboo Bridge is very famous for attracting tourists, although there is a stone bridge connecting Kampong Cham to Koh Pen already. Due to the high tide, the bridge is flooded and demolished, so every year at low tide, the Koh Pen bamboo bridge will be built to welcome tourists to Koh Pen and the beautiful banks of the Mekong River.
